My First Ipsy Bag!

My first Ipsy bag arrived yesterday and honestly, I was so excited to tear into it and see what the products looked like that I couldn't wait until this morning - so if the photos are a little grainy you have my apologies - it was dark in my apartment and I needed to touch them up a bit!

I had considered using a beauty subscription off and on for a few years now, because spending money on makeup genuinely makes me cringe and I never know what to buy or what products work well, so after reviewing the pros and cons of Ipsy vs Birchbox, I eventually settled with Ipsy. The odds of getting full size products instead of travel size are greater, so I might get a better deal than I would with other boxes....

So far, so good.

The first thing I noticed upon opening up the golden envelope (pretty!) were these two hyaluronic sheet masks from Korean beauty company CLIV. I was really surprised to see two of them, since I had assumed I'd only be getting one to try out but I'm really excited now - CLIV is kind of expensive, so getting a sort of "BOGO" set in my bag made me really happy.

The bag itself is really cute - there were three different color options this month and I'm actually really glad I got this lighter gradient bag because it's soooo lovely. It's very well constructed and can actually hold a good deal of makeup - I will definitely be using this regularly!

Next on the list is The Balm Voyage Eye Shadow in the shade Kawakaribisha - it's a very peachy, shimmery color and I can definitely see myself using it as an allover lid color or maybe just as a highlight.

Moving on, I received a blending brush from SLMissGlam - it's kind of short and the bristles are a bit stiffer than I might have liked, but the green color is really pretty.

Keeping with the green, in my bag was also a tiny tube of Aurora's color-correcting concealer in Pistachio. I do have some redness on my face, primarily on my cheeks, chin, and around my nose so I will definitely be giving this a test run in the near future!

Lastly, a sample size tube of Lancome's Monsieur Big mascara. I'm wearing it today actually - the brush is HUGE and the consistency of the product is a bit thick and goopey, so I'm not sure I would have wanted a full size version but I'll definitely give this a go when I want really thick and dark lashes.

Overall, my first experience with Ipsy is shaping up to be a very positive one - I'm quite happy with everything I received, it arrived safely and in a timely manner, and I love all the deals offered to members on their website.

If you're looking for a reasonably-priced beauty subscription, I would definitely suggest giving Ipsy at least a try.

    1. Thanks! I'm kind of out of practice in the realm of makeup, so I'm hoping that by suddenly having all these products around me I'll be inspired to play around and try new looks.
