Holiday Gift Guide: For Everyone

I've covered Gifts for Her and Gifts for Him, but I can't forget about everyone else on your list! Hopefully, these five gift idea will be perfect for that hard to befriend coworker, your estranged uncle or that member of your friend group who's gender identity is a little bit ambiguous.

1. These are the kinds of holiday gift ideas that I'm always eyeing for myself when I shop around the holidays. A yummy gift basket and a holiday-themed mug - like this one and this one from Target are perfect for that friend who really likes to stay in and read when it's frosty outside. There's something really cozy about this type of seasonal gift, and I use cute mugs like this long past the holidays.

2. A lipstick-sized portable battery charger for a phone - like this affordable one from Amazon  - fits nicely inside a purse or a pocket, so it's the perfect gift for that one person in your life that always forgets to charge their phone. I really can't think of anyon…

Post-Thanksgiving Round-up

Hello, everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving if that is something you celebrate and didn't get trampled to death during the Black Friday hype sales.

I had a nice dinner on Thursday with my roommate's family - his mom made a ham instead of a turkey. It was a bit of a departure from what I grew up eating, but since I'm not a fan of turkey anyhow I am absolutely not complaining.

After a few glasses of wine, we busted out Cards Against Humanity and played a couple rounds of that before the dogs started getting antsy and wanted to go home with their dad. Overall, it was a quiet and pleasant holiday afternoon.

🙞🙞🙞⚇🙜🙜🙜 weird. Unlike a lot of you, I had to go into work that morning.

It ultimately ended up being pointless, since no one came in (they were all shopping or still celebrating with family and friends) and at least I managed to type out some words for my NaNoWriMo project.

Curious about how that's going? Follow me on Twitter to find…

Holiday Gift Guide: For Her

Some say the dudes are harder to shop for, but I disagree - it can be really tricky to shop for your mom, girlfriends, and best friends without falling pray to stereotypes and gender roles.

Cold Weather Recipes for November

Last winter, I dabbled in a bit of Korean cuisine with my insanely spicy Kimchi Stew - whipped together with the last 1/4 of kimchi in the jar, a liberal amount of Korean red pepper and some thinly sliced pork.

It was amazing. And I didn't have operable taste buds for a week after but . . . #worthit

Since I really enjoy experimenting with different and exciting ingredients and I'm a huge supporter of cold weather comfort food that is also good for you, here are some of my favorite recipes for this almost-winter season.

Bonus: some of these might make great sides for an adventurous Thanksgiving dinner!

Monique from AmbitiousKitchen shared this turmeric latte recipe on Pinterest and I've probably made it at least three different times now since it will, in her words, "make you feel like pure 24k gold."

◈◈◈◈◈ Creamy turmeric latte with hints of vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom. It’ll make you feel like pure 24k gold. INGREDIENTS 1 (15 oz) can coconut milk (can…
