The Goal-Getter Playbook Review
Work has been hectic lately; there have been a lot of changes within the company I work for and while change is inevitable (and usually good) it can leave me feeling a little scattered and directionless.
So it was the perfect time to look at setting some goals for myself, determining what I'm truly passionate about and what steps I need to take to turn that passion into something that works for me, instead of against me.
The Goal-Getter Playbook is so much more expansive and in-depth than any other life planner I've ever considered - and it goes way beyond career planning - this playbook will help you organize, manage, and maximize your entire life. No stone is left unturned here.
Now, I need to preface: I'm not a "goal setter". I don't like plans or schedules, time blocking, penciling in self-care, color-coding my Outlook calendar, etc. I'm more of a go-with-the-flow, works well last minute and under pressure, que sera sera type...
...and even I found myself impressed by the usefulness of this planner!
1.) Sparking Passion
If you've never really taken the time to sit down and think about what truly makes you happy, what inspires you to get out of bed in the morning and what your ideal life looks like, The Goal-Getter Playbook holds your hand through that process with its first chapter and once that spark ignites, you'll be scribbling with gusto through the rest of this planner and on your way to living your best life.
It certainly helped remind me how much joy I find in writing and why I should be pursuing that passion. Cheers for that one, Mica!
(Still doesn't explain why it took me so gosh darn long to get this post up though.)
2.) Defining Action Steps
What often trips us up in our quest to fulfill our goals is not knowing where to start or how to begin. I can absolutely attest to this kind of paralysis, before I started considering affiliate posts I really had no idea where to look or how to go about it. Being able to break down your life goals into smaller goals and finally, into concrete action steps eliminates a lot of that fear and uncertainty.
There's also a call to check in with yourself along the way - how are you feeling, where are you in terms of progress, does this still spark passion? All good reminders, because self-awareness is crucial and also a key component of mental health - which can fall by the wayside when we're pushing so hard for success.
3.) The Joy of Finishing A Chapter
What I love about the end of each chapter in this playbook are the inspiring and uplifting quotes. They're a great way to close out a period of self-reflection or steps taken to move forward and it's clear that Mica put a lot of thought into the parting words she choose for each chapter.
Not only that, they make you look forward to the next chapter and what awaits on the journey called life.

This sounds like it could be really helpful in setting goals. I've actually read a few books over the last few years that talk about this process and I've found them really insightful. Like you said, it really helps to start thinking about what makes you happy to re-ignite that spark.

This sounds like an excellent planner, or actually so much more than just a planner. I'm like you, a works well last minute and under pressure kinda girl but just occasionally I do wonder what if would be like to be super organised, haha. This sounds intriguing, maybe it might work for me too - great review, thank you for sharing!
