Five Unpopular Opinions

You know what's great about opinions? We all have 'em! So here are a few of mine. Feel free to agree or disagree and tell me if you have any particular opinions often considered "unpopular"!

1. Pineapple is the best pizza topping. Fight me.

2. Chocolate is disgusting.

3. Gender reveal parties are outdated and need to stop.

4. The "Instagram Model Eyebrow" is hideous. (You know what I'm talking about.)

5. Drinking milk over the age of, like, five should be unacceptable.

  1. This is funny :)
    1. Pineapple on pizza is a solid choice
    2. Chocolate is not disgusting!
    3. You're probably correct
    4. I had to google this so not sure
    5. I drink milk with dinner every night. Also don't you like to dunk cookies?? LOL

    1. I think I have a mild allergy to chocolate, so my opinion there is kind of personal, haha!

And I don't eat cookies. I have a pretty low/no-sugar diet because I have to (yay, health problems....) but if I did eat cookies I'd likely dunk them in tea or coffee.

      Thanks for commenting. :)

  2. Some of my unpopular opinions:
    1. White chocolate is better than milk chocolate
    2. Pizza should have about as much cheese as crust
    3. Milk is delicious, but cream is even tastier
    4. The thermostat is definitely not set too high

    1. I used to love white chocolate, but I can't eat it anymore! T_T

Cream is nice in coffee or tea, but I can't imagine drinking it plain. That'd be so strange to me!

      :) Thanks for commenting.

  3. 1 - YES, pineapple pizza is the damn best thing.

2 - Chocolate under 70% cacao doesn't deserve the holy name of chocolate.

3 - We are having a gender reveal for my friend after his top surgery, his request.

4 - As someone with THICK eyebrows, I found it nice to see people move away from the thin 2000's eyebrow.

5 - Agreed, milk is gross and weird.

    1. Thick eyebrows are totally fine, I'm talking about the sharply drawn "on fleek" brows that just look super unnatural, lol!

  4. I do love an unpopular opinion (but only if it's ACTUALLY unpopular, not like some of the ones you see on Twitter?!)

And I definitely disagree with most of yours apart from the pineapple one. I love pineapple on pizza, it tastes amazing and I don't understand peoples beef with it?

Chocolate is amazing, I have no issue with gender reveals (I mean, if it was me, I wouldn't have a WHOLE PARTY for it though, that's a bit overkill) and I love milk.

Arguably yes, some eyebrows you see on Instagram are a bit much. But I do generally like bigger, bushier eyebrows.

  5. 1. Pineapple is my favorite topping, but I haven't had it in a long time because no one else I know likes it.
    2. Chocolate is alright.
    3. Had a reveal party (wasn't my choice). Diaper parties are great though - got a bunch of friends to come out and didn't have to buy diapers for the first 8 months.
    4. Thankfully, I don't know. I basically use Instagram to edit photos and store them personally.
    5. There are 3 gallons of milk in my fridge. I love cereal, and am not going to put orange juice in it (swear I've seen it).

    1. Ooh, a diaper party seems like a great idea - very practical!

I've known people to put orange juice on cereal as well, it's just wrong. :)

Dear Readers, I feel like a fraud.

Dear Readers,

It's been a rough week.

Actually, it's been a really rough month and a half.

I haven't been unemployed this long in years. And the last time I didn't have a job and a structured routine, I was in a really dark place. My mental health was at an all time low back then and I used to think about suicide, or just giving up, a lot.

I feel like I've been slipping back into that head-space again. And I'm not sure how to stop it.

Being unemployed and stuck at home can give you a lot to think about and reflect on what you want out of your life. It can also make it really easy to spiral down into bad habits - like drinking every night, bingeing Netflix and ignoring all the dishes piling up, and eating microwave popcorn instead of real food for three nights in a row.

It's been a few days since I've showered, too.

So much of my stress lately is tied up in job hunting. Do you know how difficult it is just to get an interview when you only have a few ye…

Sci-Fi and Introverts

Today is World Introvert Day and also National Science Fiction Day! There's nothing I love more than curling up on the sofa with a soft blanket and good book, especially if it's a space opera romp that could put Star Wars to shame, but I'm also a sucker for the classics - so here are some of my recommendations for good Science Fiction novels and films!

Films:
1. Fifth Element
2. Lost in Space
3. I, Robot
4. Star Wars
5. Blade Runner
6. Alien
7. 2001, A Space Odyssey
8. The Man Who Fell to Earth

Books:
1. Dune
2. Ender's Game
3. Frankenstein
4. The Time Machine
5. Do Android's Dream of Electric Sheep?
6. Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy
7. A Wrinkle in Time
8. Oryx and Crake

What are your recommendations for good science fiction? Let me know in the comments!

Four Ways to Protect Yourself from Negative Energy

*This post contains affiliate links. If you click through and make a purchase, I may get a small commission at no extra cost to you.*

It's 2019 and unless you've been on a digital detox or holed away in some cozy cabin off the grid, you know there's a lot of toxic and negative energy in the world these days. We encounter it everywhere - at work, at the coffee shop, and even online in our social media communities.

While it may be difficult to avoid coming into contact with any negative energy, there are steps we can take to protect ourselves and our homes from all that unpleasantness. Here are four easy things anyone can do:

1. Clean & Ward your Space

Clutter tends to put most of us into a real funk, so the first step to making sure our energy is clear and untainted is to clean up our living space. Do a little Marie Kondo'ing if you haven't yet, but it's also important to make sure that you're wiping down and disinfecting the surfaces in your home.

If you…
