Five Unpopular Opinions

You know what's great about opinions? We all have 'em! So here are a few of mine. Feel free to agree or disagree and tell me if you have any particular opinions often considered "unpopular"!

1. Pineapple is the best pizza topping. Fight me.

2. Chocolate is disgusting.

3. Gender reveal parties are outdated and need to stop.

4. The "Instagram Model Eyebrow" is hideous. (You know what I'm talking about.)

5. Drinking milk over the age of, like, five should be unacceptable.

  1. This is funny :)
    1. Pineapple on pizza is a solid choice
    2. Chocolate is not disgusting!
    3. You're probably correct
    4. I had to google this so not sure
    5. I drink milk with dinner every night. Also don't you like to dunk cookies?? LOL

    1. I think I have a mild allergy to chocolate, so my opinion there is kind of personal, haha!

And I don't eat cookies. I have a pretty low/no-sugar diet because I have to (yay, health problems....) but if I did eat cookies I'd likely dunk them in tea or coffee.

      Thanks for commenting. :)

  2. Some of my unpopular opinions:
    1. White chocolate is better than milk chocolate
    2. Pizza should have about as much cheese as crust
    3. Milk is delicious, but cream is even tastier
    4. The thermostat is definitely not set too high

    1. I used to love white chocolate, but I can't eat it anymore! T_T

Cream is nice in coffee or tea, but I can't imagine drinking it plain. That'd be so strange to me!

      :) Thanks for commenting.

  3. 1 - YES, pineapple pizza is the damn best thing.

2 - Chocolate under 70% cacao doesn't deserve the holy name of chocolate.

3 - We are having a gender reveal for my friend after his top surgery, his request.

4 - As someone with THICK eyebrows, I found it nice to see people move away from the thin 2000's eyebrow.

5 - Agreed, milk is gross and weird.

    1. Thick eyebrows are totally fine, I'm talking about the sharply drawn "on fleek" brows that just look super unnatural, lol!

  4. I do love an unpopular opinion (but only if it's ACTUALLY unpopular, not like some of the ones you see on Twitter?!)

And I definitely disagree with most of yours apart from the pineapple one. I love pineapple on pizza, it tastes amazing and I don't understand peoples beef with it?

Chocolate is amazing, I have no issue with gender reveals (I mean, if it was me, I wouldn't have a WHOLE PARTY for it though, that's a bit overkill) and I love milk.

Arguably yes, some eyebrows you see on Instagram are a bit much. But I do generally like bigger, bushier eyebrows.

  5. 1. Pineapple is my favorite topping, but I haven't had it in a long time because no one else I know likes it.
    2. Chocolate is alright.
    3. Had a reveal party (wasn't my choice). Diaper parties are great though - got a bunch of friends to come out and didn't have to buy diapers for the first 8 months.
    4. Thankfully, I don't know. I basically use Instagram to edit photos and store them personally.
    5. There are 3 gallons of milk in my fridge. I love cereal, and am not going to put orange juice in it (swear I've seen it).

    1. Ooh, a diaper party seems like a great idea - very practical!

I've known people to put orange juice on cereal as well, it's just wrong. :)

So you want to teach yourself Japanese? Part Two

What I love about the Duolingo app is that the first thing you learn when you take Japanese lessons is how to read and pronounce Hiragana - the most basic alphabet in Japanese and one you could conceivably use to write entire sentences in Japanese (excluding foreign-borrowed words that are always in Katakana) if you don't know any Kanji.

There are 46 standard Hiragana characters - and essentially, 46 standard sounds to be found in the Japanese language. We'll discuss modified characters/sounds later.*

The first row of Hiragana characters featured here are the vowels and they're the most important to learn. The good news - there's only five of them.

あ - a (pronounced like ah) い - i (pronounced like ee) う - u (pronounced like ooh) え - e (pronounced like eh) お - o (pronounced like oh)

There are a few Japanese words that are comprised only of vowels, such as お (ah-oh) blue and  え (ee-eh) house. Most, however, are comprised of two or more consonant characters.

Etiquette Rules I (Personally) Find Pointless

Etiquette is a tricky realm in which to maneuver. Often, it varies from place to place and country to country. What's polite in one area of the world (slurping your noodles in Japan = 🖒) could be considered unfathomably rude elsewhere. So, let's approach this from a modern, millennial etiquette perspective, shall we?

Five Etiquette Rules I (Personally) Find Pointless

1.) Handwritten Thank You Notes- I try to be an environmentally friendly and conscious individual, truly I do. And I think that is perhaps why I have such a beef with "thank you" cards. Actually, any cards. Holiday cards, birthday cards, get-well-soon cards....it's all just paper. And it's all going to end up in the trash or recycling.

That tree died for something I glanced at for 30 seconds. If you truly want to thank me for something or wish me well, just email or text. Let me know in person next time you see me. If we are bosom buddies, you may even have permission to call and tell me.

Short Skirt, Long Jacket: What Trendy Korean Girls Are Wearing Right Now

Tokyo used to be the fashion capitol of East Asia, but with the rise in popularity of K-dramas and K-pop groups like BTS and BlackPink, South Korea is putting itself on the map in terms of street fashion.

Here are just a few of the trends in Seoul this year for spring and summer fashion. How many of them are you going to incorporate?

Aviator Glasses

In Seoul, the rounded Harry Potter-esque glasses are on the out, and the always timeless aviator style is worming its way back onto the street fashion scene. This style can be seen in sunglasses and regular glasses, and worn by just about anyone, whether they need corrected vision or not. I'm not a huge fan of aviators, because I don't think they suit my face, but this lady is rocking 'em!

Over-sized Cardigan and Jackets

The heroines in all my favorite K-dramas have been rocking the over-sized blazer look since last winter and I doubt this style is going away any time soon. Fabrics will get lighter and the dresses underneath a b…
